It’s Party Time!

Mike and I have been working nonstop (well, not really nonstop, but A LOT) on our first home remodel. Ha! I say “first home remodel” like we will have a second one, NEVER! Anyway, we are ready to show off our hard work and want you all to celebrate with us as we return to society just in time for winter sports!

You (Internet weirdos excluded) are invited to join us for a day of celebration, FSU football, drinks and paleo friendly food in our first home! Feel free to stop anytime after 2pm this Saturday. We would love to show you our hard work!

UPDATE: Earlier in the week, Mike fell victim to the bug that has been traveling around and we decided to cancel our get together. We plan to reschedule after the holidays. In the meantime, our home is now germ-free, so feel free to stop by and check it out!

Our (done enough) Kitchen

This weekend, Mike and I finally got the tools out of the house and began pulling everything together. Most things are off the floor now we even have a few pictures hung up on the walls. One of our biggest challenges was the kitchen. Mike did a great job with the cabinets and now it is fully functional.

If you look closely, you will see some projects still looming, but the counters are clean, so I had to snap pictures while I could!

We still have a few projects left in the kitchen. We need to install the ice maker line, install under cabinet lighting, and put up a backsplash. Those are on the soon list!

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

I’ve been kind of quite the last few weeks on the blog front. Mike and I have slowly started to transition back to our normal lives- including weekend bike rides, skiing and ice climbing on our days off. This past weekend, I spent the entire weekend at a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certification course only accomplished working out, studying, eating and sleeping for two straight days.

However, that doesn’t mean that we have been neglecting our tiny stout home either. Mike and I collaborated on a spreadsheet of projects and divided them into three categories- Priority, Short Term and Long Term. With our downtime, Mike and I have divided and conquered a few tasks off the priority list and will work this week to make our home livable and presentable.

Yet, another reason I haven’t posted is that our house has been quite the mess the last few weeks and since I don’t consider it a “construction zone” anymore, I am far too embarrassed to post pictures on the Internet. I am serious! IF we had children, I think our home would be considered “unfit” and child services would be knocking at our door. Fortunately for us, we don’t have children, but that doesn’t mean I want to share our mess with the world!

Tonight I will finish caulking and (hopefully) painting the baseboards. I also hope to touch up the bathroom, as I have gotten to be a much better painter than I was when we started painting nearly three months ago. Once I get those things crossed off, we can begin to move everything into place and then, maybe you will get some pictures!
